Awarded for: The recipients of the Golden Lightsaber have displayed the greatest forms of ability, service and sacrifice for the Brotherhood. Others pale in comparison to what the holders of this award have accomplished. A two-thirds majority of the Dark Council is needed to ensure a member is truly worth this great honor.

Description: Foremost among the accoutrements of a Dark Jedi’s formal attire, the Silver Sash denotes a being of true merit that embodies what it means to serve. The sash is a finely woven blend of cortosis fibers and armorweave cloth. A scaled pattern is stitched in relief upon the fabric symbolizing protection for its wearer. The edges are run with silver piping that set off this otherwise matte ornamentation against one’s robes. The bearer of this award commands respect and admiration in equal measure.

Awarded for: While the Seal of Loyalty recognizes numerous members of the Brotherhood, the Silver Sash instead recognizes only one such member every year for their outstanding allegiance and consistent service to the Brotherhood over the course of that year. Recipients of the Silver Sash are the true pillars of the Dark Brotherhood, many times foregoing their own personal goals and instead working towards the betterment of the club as a whole. A member may only be rewarded this honor once.

Description: Employing the alchemical techniques used in the creation of Sith Swords, the Diamond Sword is one of the strongest and sharpest conventional blades in existence. Impregnated with diamond hardness along both its edges, the blade itself is forged from extremely rare and expensive phrik alloys. The two substances are purified by intense heat and molded into a full-tang blade set into a handle wrapped in krayt hide over knurls of ditanium. The formidableness of this sword is second only to that of the lightsaber.

Awarded for: To receive the coveted Diamond Sword, a member of the Brotherhood must have shown an impressive array of talents and qualities over a considerable length of time. Such a member will have been active personally throughout their career, continually striving for more; they will have shown leadership abilities over a wide range of positions throughout the Brotherhood; they will have been a mentor to numerous other members, helping them along their path; they will be a pillar of the Brotherhood, without any blemishes on their record. These are the recipients of the Diamond Sword.

Awarded by: The Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master

Description: A kris blade of pure emerald set into a handle of Hijarna stone. The asymmetry of the blade connotes a sense of foreboding and uncertainty in those who gaze into its viridian luster. It is hand-crafted over a period of months from a single, massive emerald. The blade is glazed with a hardening agent to preserve its crystalline beauty as well as render the dagger quite formidable against an unarmored opponent.

Awarded for: The Emerald Dagger is awarded to those who have shown themselves to truly bring something new to their given position. However, their actions are not to be solely consigned to their specific House or Clan, but instead, must show that they have had an impact outside of their respective work. One who receives the Emerald Dagger will be known to the Brotherhood at large, their impressive array of work standing the test of time.

Description: One of the most ornate awards the Brotherhood bestows to its faithful, the Ruby Scepter is possessed of fearsome beauty. Struck from precious silver horded from the undersea “vault-spires” of Munnilinst, the scepter’s shaft is finely relieved with passages of ancient texts of the recipient’s choosing. At either end of the scepter is a firelight ruby from Antei’s own mines. It is the mark of a notable scholar among the membership. Though not a true weapon, as are many of the Brotherhood’s other awards, the scepter is of considerable weight and solidity. Its use as a bludgeon is not without precedent.

Awarded for: To see one possess the Ruby Scepter is to know that this member is one of the great mentors of the Brotherhood. Their work will have touched a wide range of others within the Dark Brotherhood as they will have contributed significantly in the areas of instruction, invention and mentorship.

Description: Only the finest Sullustian amethyst is selected to create this lustrous blade of sacrifice and power. Mined from ancient deposits, the massive blade is carved from a solid piece of amethyst taking several months to work into this exquisite piece of craftsmanship. The full-tang construction flows elegantly from hardened tip to pommel. The handle is gracefully captured in carved neutronium. The kukri is more ornamental than practical, but those seen wearing the prestigious award should be feared not for the weapon’s ability, but for that of its master.

Awarded for: Much can be accomplished when one focuses on a specific task, whether it be leading a Clan or working on various projects for the Dark Council. When such work reaches levels of exceptional value, a token of appreciation is needed to honor such tasks. As such, bearers of this award have shown their dedication and focus on furthering one aspect of the Brotherhood far beyond what was expected of them.

Description: This stunning sapphire blade is cast in the ancient style of the gladius paying homage to those fierce warriors of another time. The shank is struck through with titanium inclusions lending a hypnotically deep azure hue to the weapon. The blade’s surface features one powerful ridge running either side of its length adding both strength and beauty. The sapphire itself is synthetically formed from a large crystal boule and laser-cut to the desired specifications. It is then set into a hilt of rare Mandalorian iron which is wrapped in Firaxan shark skin over knurled ridges. The large, round pommel counterweights the marvelously simple weapon and is engraved on the bottom by two simple words in Sith runes: “In Darkness”.

Awarded for: The recipient of a Sapphire Blade has shown consistent and long-term service to their Clan or Brotherhood position. Such services however cannot be seen until taken on a hold, each individual part seen as one. The Sapphire Blade can also be rewarded for extraordinary amounts of activity in a large-scale competition such as the Great Jedi War, where the very best are rewarded for their efforts.

Description: Highest of the non-sacrificial medal awards. This bestowment is a large cross of bronzium with runic inlay. Traditionally the cross, as it relates to the Force, represents The Four Stages of the Dark Side: Temptation, Imperilment, Submission, and Atonement. The cross is backed by bronzium lattice woven intricately around its four equal arms. The lattice represents strength and the complexity of character of those who receive this honor. The Grand Cross marks a member well on his way to greatness within the Brotherhood.

Description: The Steel Cross is the mark of a true warrior and leader to be. The cruciform is made of simple durasteel to reflect the unfettered strength of the recipient. The arms are carved in relief to relate the following words in aurebesh: Devotion, Power, Victory, and Passion. The simple amber stone set in the center of the cross represents energy. A smaller saltire cross intersects the primary cross. Both crosses are reinforced by a durasteel ring implying strength and unity.

Awarded for: The Steel Cross is awarded for extended service to one’s House or Clan, such as duties that aid a Quaestor or Aedile as well as being a mentor to others. Activity over a period of some time that goes above and beyond what is considered normal can also be rewarded with this award.

Description: Cast from a solid disk of carvanium, the backing of the cross is inlaid with a decorative inner ring of bronzium that features glyphs representing the infinite power of dark might. The circlet’s center is dominated by three massive onyx shards carved from the claws of the predatory graul of Dantooine. The deeply burnished “jewels” represent the three insoluble Orders of the Brotherhood. The Anteian stands apart from the other “traditional” crosses of the Brotherhood in that it pays homage to the origins of the word from its namesake’s culture. “Cross”, in the old Anteian dialects, literally translates into Basic as “joining of three”.

Awarded for: Recipients of this award have shown consistent and dedicated service to one’s Battle Team or House by having displayed a greater than average amount of activity over a period of several weeks that included participation in several projects, events or competitions.

Description: The most fundamental award of service in the Brotherhood, the Dark Cross is nonetheless a respected mark of excellence among the membership. Fashioned from common doonium, the award is backed by a simple oblate ring. The cross itself is in the “flory” design representing the recipient’s early growth within the Brotherhood.

Awarded for: Those who receive the Dark Cross have shown a strong level of activity within their House or Battle Team through IRC presence, participation in competitions and events or having worked on small-scale projects.

Description: Seals of the Dark Brotherhood are some of the most revered and sought-after awards by the membership. They fall within two categories: Seals of War and Seals of Loyalty. The Seals of War are struck of unique materials and design as call for their commission is warranted by the occurrence of major conflicts. The Seal of Loyalty is a standardized disk of woven ditanium featuring a centered medallion of neuranium emblazoned with the sacred seal of the Dark Brotherhood.

Awarded for: The various Seals of the Brotherhood are given out only at specific times, and for specific acheivements. Seals of Loyalty are only awarded twice a year, on the Anniversery of the Split (April 12) and on the Day of the Fox (Nov 6). They are awarded for allegiance and consistent service to the Brotherhood. Seals of War (such as the Seal of Memories) are awarded to participants in a Vendetta (such as a Rite of Supremacy or Great Jedi War) once it has ended. Each Seal of War is unique to the Vendetta event from which it originated.
