Battleteams

Battleteams are the basic organisation unit within the Dark Brotherhood and fall under the command of a Battleteam Leader. These teams are grouped within a particular House, and can either be aligned to the same Order or consist of members from multiple orders.. The teams can consist of up to twelve (12) members. Upon completing training in the Shadow Academy, new members can be assigned to a Battleteam by their House Leaders. Further ranks and awards can be gained by active participation in the team. The general structure of the Battleteams is listed below:

Duties - The Battleteam Leader is responsible for the overall welfare of his or her team. This includes keeping members motivated and active. Duties of the Battleteam Leader include and are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a Battleteam website with roster, events, etc
  • Running competitions within and outside the team
  • Forward any communications from higher in the command chain to team members
  • Report to the House Summit on a regular basis
  • Make promotion and/or award recommendations for members where appropriate
  • Set an example, both in conduct and activity (ie. following the set requirements towards conduct, participating in competitions, on message boards, etc)
  • Promote competitions and other events within the Dark Brotherhood

Powers - The Battleteam Leader has powers of awarding, specifically, the Dark Cross and awards for approved competitions that the Leader may run.

Appointment - Battleteam Leaders are appointed by the House Summit with approval from the Master-at-Arms.

Formation of New Battleteams - New Battleteams will only be approved when the other teams in the same House have reached an acceptable level of capacity. This level is determined by the Master-at-Arms. In addition, any changes to the name of a Battleteam must be approved by the Master-at-Arms.
